Our personal core values:
‘supper with the King’ is central to Broad Oak Chapel Family, central to our worship, mission & to our authenticity in our relationship with God & each other, bonding us to what Jesus has done.
joining with like-minded people in an atmosphere of love, respect & equality based upon biblical principles.
we have all messed up, we offer a safe place to get up again, & again with authentic vulnerability.
enjoying & encountering God through a lifestyle of worship, Word, Spirit, witness & prayer without ceasing.
promoting the victorious finished work of Calvary, faith-righteousness & grace, a people led by Holy Spirit.
practicing the presence of God, discovering the scriptures, journeying together & building personal solid foundations with an interior knowledge of our identity in Christ.
releasing an empowered people into the fullness of their destiny, calling, gifting & God given commissioning to make disciples of all people.
courageously preferring one another - championing each other on authentically, knowing & facing the seasons. Persevering together with unity, wisdom, grace & trust.
Our personal culture:
We believe that the essence of a culturally relevant Church is Kingdom community that lives enjoying the manifest presence of God. We do not separate Kingdom from Church. Church is part of the gospel itself as Church is a gift from God incarnate.
Our interaction speaks a language of its own, we are the visible gospel, tangible in community, being good news, sharing good news & restoring eternal justice.
Shaped by an attitude of uniqueness, freedom, of Holy Spirit accountability, lifestyle preparation & service as a spiritual rhythmic family we choose to journey relationally.
We BELONG to Chapel Family, cultivating a core culture of identity, the liberty of newness, empowerment, citizenship & mobilisation.
We value design, encounter & engagement & have intentionally created what for some is a buoyant space & for others a fluid anchor rooted in a local place called: Broad Oak Chapel.
We believe in common-unity & that for harmony there must be difference & diversity.
Valuing our uniqueness of sound, we are a symphony of “Christ in us, the hope of glory” (Col 1:26,27). We stand @ the door of God’s home & welcome fellow soul-journers.
Living according to purpose & from our Kingdom inheritance, for us the gospel is Good News not a strategy, a cause, the worlds idea of success & business.
Our mission is wherever the kingdom isn’t present as we incarnate the gospel in a living way stimulating organic / holistic vision where there is tiredness, brokenness, doubt & exploration.
Contagious love shapes our teaching community, family like bonds, journey of faith & culture of communion, prayer: listening: reflection, word: share, worship: presence, stewardship: investment, passion: sacrifice: holiness: grace, evangelism & conversions.
Numbers are not our mission but numbers are still important for mission. A community is always contextual & with a territorial orientation (1 Cor 9: 19ff
Our personal governance:
is that of a spirit of agreement
looking up - vertically
knowing God’s blue-print:
walking out - horizontally
equipping & releasing like minded people.
along side, next to:
us & each other
with relational dynamics
a fluid anchor structure
of connectedness - unity & mutual respect
honouring our leaders
submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ
respecting & deferring to:
the authority, anointing, vision, knowledge, experience & gifts
of each other
as team players,
